The Craven Active Bookings service is the county's best online source for present custody. The Detention Center says the list covers all current inmates housed in the facility, excludes juveniles and federal inmates, and is updated as often as possible. It is a live roster, not a full arrest archive or daily police blotter. A release or transfer can remove a person from view while the agency and court records remain.

Start by browsing the roster, then use any name filter or list controls shown by the current interface. A detail page may include a booking identity or confinement number, booking date, current charges, bond information, and custody status. Some fields depend on the live entry. The interface may show a booking photograph, but no photograph or private arrestee data is republished here. A booking charge is an intake allegation and can change after prosecutor review.

Do not send a New Bern or Trent Woods police request to the sheriff unless the sheriff took part or created the requested record. The jail only holds the booking and custody side of an outside agency's arrest.

What an Arrest Record Shows

Core public Craven County arrest facts can include an event or report number, time, date, location, nature of the event, arrest time and place, arresting agency, alleged offense, arrest circumstances listed by law, process or warrant identifier, booking data, bond, release condition, and a later court case number. The exact fields depend on which of the four records is being viewed.

Arrests vs Convictions

An arrest record shows that an agency alleged an offense or took someone into custody. A conviction requires a court finding of guilt.
